Venezuela Explained: a journalistic memoir of my broken country

How this Latin American country came to misery with the world’s biggest oil reserve? A complex crisis explained in a three episode podcast that covers 20 years of history.

Some people still ask me to explain what’s happening in Venezuela: even though it’s in the front pages of the US media, they still don’t understand how a rich nation turned out into misery and massive exodus after living the biggest oil boom of its history. How a charismatic soldier clinging to power transformed the country into the time bomb it is today. This a bilingual session will try to answer that question for those who still don’t understand the basics of what’s happening.

I would to lead a session for those who understand Spanish, so they can listen an explanation of this complex issue in a three episode podcast I produced, called “Érase una vez Venezuela”. This podcast is not only based in tradicional and testimonials: I also included sounds of my interviews and journalistic work I saved for years until this moment, so it really gives an idea of the issue.
