Geolocation is quickly becoming one of the most important tools in a reporter’s digital arsenal. Using tools such as Google Maps and satellite imagery, reporters can get a better handle on what’s happening on the ground, verifying or debunking claims by governments that otherwise might not be so forthcoming. In this session, geolocation research Lukas Andriukaitis will explain geolocation techniques to attendees and show some of the more amazing types of investigative reporting that can be conducted with it.
