A Collaboration in Your Carry-On: Meet your next partner, start crafting your collaboration and return home ready to go

Meet your next partner (or partners) and brainstorm for your collaboration.

The future of journalism is collaborative and its present is building the ecosystems and communities essential to effective, efficient and equitable collaborations.

Are you looking for partners? Have you gotten excited about trying collaboration but aren’t sure how to identify potential partners? Is it a little unclear how to reach out to other newsrooms about collaborating or how you make it known to others that you’re interested? Maybe you’re a freelancer interested in working on a project but aren’t sure how to approach a newsroom as an individual or find other freelancers?

We’ll work through partner matching exercises that will help you find potential collaborators in the room (and when you go back home) and then brainstorm and map out what you could collaborate on. You’ll leave this session with concrete next steps so that you return home with a plan in place.

The session will include collaboration-designing exercises based on patterns and processes from collaborations we’ve documented from across the globe, pulling together tested methods and approaches and helping you come up with new ones to fit your unique project.

Collaboration is one of our most powerful tools to confront the challenges we’re facing. It’s a capacity-builder, an opportunity for inclusion and the most accessible option for organizations to accomplish what they could not alone. Let’s get your collaboration started.
