Sonali is a journalist who has worked in newsrooms for a couple of decades, and at the Globe for 11 years. She was previously shaping digital strategy through data at Canada’s national newspaper. This entailed helping the newsroom understand how to reach new audiences through search, social and other means; retain loyal readers; and gain new paying subscribers. Since October, she’s been busy working with developers on Sophi, the Globe’s analytics system, which goes beyond counting clicks and helps the newsroom find hidden gems in their content and predict what to paywall.
