Carrie Porter

Carrie Porter is a journalist and media strategist. Her current projects include researching business models for news as a consultant, developing newsletter strategy, and producing a podcast on housing precarity. Carrie served as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal in the Chicago and Los Angeles bureaux, and prior to that, she worked as an editor for Patch. She also began producing animation videos on news literacy and served as an adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University. Later, she provided organizational leadership at Seven Bridges Genomics, a start-up in Cambridge, Mass. As a Fulbright Scholar in Northern Ireland, Carrie earned her master's degree in journalism, reporting on tensions in the post-conflict zone. She graduated from the Medill School at Northwestern University with bachelor's degrees in journalism and international studies. Carrie is based in Los Angeles.
