Catherine Perez is a recent graduate from Northeastern Illinois University. In her academic studies she focused on communication, media, and theater. In the midsts of her academic studies, she found ways to share her passion for proper representation and justice for latinos and minorities. Serving as a Stage Manager for multiple diverse theater productions at NEIU, she found the importance of story-telling for all individuals. In order to see the production process of story-telling in the news industry she held an internship at NBC-Chicago and Telemundo as a Collaboration Intern. Additionally, she helped produce episodes for DACAmentation, a podcast about Dreamers and DACA recipients that aired on Spanish Public Radio.
Early in her profession career she has started working as an Information Technology Recruiter and has also worked as a scenic assistant for theater productions.
