Investigating the Country of 2000 Graves: Public Records, Human Rights and Collaborative Journalism

It took 18 months and more than 200 public records requests for independent journalists to build the interactive database of mass graves in Mexico detailed in “The Country of 2000 Graves,” an innovative, collaborative and remote-based project with lessons for any challenging journalistic investigation.
